Blessed Assurance has been the anchor of my life for as long as I can remember. From the beginning, I wanted this record to point beyond myself—to the unchanging character of God, the truth of Scripture, and the hope found in Christ.
These songs carried me through some of the hardest seasons of my life before I ever shared them with anyone else. I waited years to release this project, searching for the "perfect" moment, until I realized that faith is about obedience, not perfection. When I finally sensed God saying, "It's time," I knew this record was ready.
Assurance is more than an album title. It's the foundation of my faith and the prayer behind every song: that these melodies would encourage others with the same hope that has carried me.
THREE MILES LEFT (2003)
3 Miles Left is constantly moving toward a closer relationship with God while acknowledging that this journey we are on is going to take some time. This CD is filled with moments of reflection. In "In Need Of A Prayer" McDonald sings about seeing the homeless and single moms trying to make it despite hardships.
"On My Way" encourages all of us to keep our eyes on the road and to keep moving ahead despite life’s many and varied test. "Give Me this mountain" causes us to take courage in our relationship with God being strong enough as we lean on the Lord to get through anything.
"Wherever You Go" is about remembering that we are never alone and that God has promised to be there no matter what. "When I Close My Eyes" having confidence in your relationship with God that we actually know without a shadow of a doubt our relationship is stronger than any problem life can throw at you.
A LOVE LIKE THIS (1995)
Originally released in 1995 on TriQuest Music, A Love Like This is the debut album from singer-songwriter Timothy McDonald. Blending contemporary Christian music with smooth R&B, soul, jazz, and gospel influences, the album delivers heartfelt worship through rich vocals, memorable melodies, and deeply personal songwriting.
Respected music reviewer Mike Rimmer praised Timothy McDonald's "excellent classy voice," highlighting its soulful gospel and jazz influences and comparing his vocal style to Lionel Richie at his best.
